Senior Patent Associate
Sanika is a Senior Patent Associate at StratJuris Law Partners. She is a registered Indian patent agent (IN/PA 5200) andMaharashtra & Goa Bar Council Enrolled Attorney (MAH/530/2020). She has more than 3 years of experience in the IP industry. She has completed her bachelor’s in microbiology (B.Sc.) from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai, and master’s in microbiology (M.Sc.) from Fergusson College, Pune (SPPU). Further, Sanika has completed her L.L.B from ILS Law College, Pune (SPPU), where she ranked among top 10 in all the six semesters in SPPU. In addition to this, she has completed her post-graduation diploma in IPR laws from NLSIU, Bangalore, and a certification in IP from WIPO-UNIGE Summer school on Intellectual Property.
Sanika has demonstrated expertise in providing legal guidance, strategizing patent prosecution, and drafting specifications.
She has displayed versatility through safeguarding patent applications across numerous fields of science & technology. She has drafted and granted several patents to build IP portfolio of a diverse range of clientele belonging to biotechnology, E&TC, mechanical, medicinal sciences, agriculture, food processing, healthcare, chemical engineering, pharmaceuticals, polymer, and organic chemistry, etc. sectors. Being a dual-qualified associate, she has a deep techno-legal understanding to evaluate and identify gaps within competitive landscapes for formulating legal strategies, prosecuting oppositions, and assessing freedom to operate (FTO). She is a specialist in researching technology-driven areas and studying patent portfolios of numerous listed companies. She has successfully executed numerous patent searches, invalidity searches, patent prosecutions including drafting FER responses, and attending patent hearings, and US office action responses. In addition to this, she has also demonstrated expertise in strategizing and drafting high court appeals, and opposition rejoinders.
Sanika is passionate about teaching and has recently attended an engineering college as a guest lecturer to impart the importance of IP laws. She is also interested in business development and plans to expand her expertise in this area.
